Data: Enemy of the Democrat -- Single-parent family edition

This is a very interesting blog post from Doug Ross. The arugment that is portraid is that if infrastructure is so cruicial to the country and the governments economic bailout, then why isn't "the family" part of it. Although this is a very conservative piece it bring up issues such as crime, welfare, legislation, and fatherhood. Also has some very interesting statistics.

  1. Very interesting article of which most I would agree. I think we need to address the values associated with out of wedlock births to have a real impact on that growing population. Apparently, it's hip for teenagers to have a baby in many parts of the country. How can we reverse this mentality? Make it more difficult to survive through tightened policy measures? A media campaign showing results from single parents households directed at teens? Instead of the egg commercial "This is your brain on drugs" it could be "This is your life with a baby" showing a screaming baby throwing up on teen mom with teenagers passing by having fun. And a married couple in the background having fun with their baby. Sounds cruel but how can the value be instilled? Any other suggestions?
